O mercado de camarões no Rio Grande do Sul: aspectos econômicos e ambientais

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é fazer uma análise econômica e ecológica da captura do camarão no município do Rio Grande- RS no período entre 1945 a 2016. A análise econômica foi composta pela verificação da relação entre a captura e seu preço correspondente, bem como as tendências do mercado. Analise ambiental envolve a verificação da influência ou não do fenômeno El Niño sobre o desembarque de camarão.A metodologia adotada foi análise descritiva e dedutiva dos dados para avaliar a relação entre o preço e o desembarque, dado a insuficiência de dados sobre o preço; e análise estatística de regressão com variáveis binárias para verificação da influência do El Niño e verificação da tendência da série. Os resultados mostram uma consonância com a teoria econômica, isto é, desembarques menores geram preços maiores e vice-versa. Existe uma tendência de queda na série de desembarques na ordem de 2% ao ano. Com isso, e dada a forte diminuição observada na captura, podemos inferir que existe a possibilidade de esgotamento econômico o setor, no médio prazo. O fenômeno El Niño influencia em 0,8% a série, não sendo considerado como elemento definidor para forte queda observada. Contudo outros fatores como o aumento dos molhes da barra e sobre pesca podem estar influenciando a captura e podem ser alvo de futuros estudos.

The objective of this article is to make an economic and ecological analysis of the shrimp catch in the municipality of Rio Grande - RS in the period between 1945 and 2016. The economic analysis was composed by the verification of the relation between the catch and its corresponding price, as well as the trends from the market. Environmental analysis involves the verification of the influence or not of El Niño phenomenon on the landing of shrimp. The methodology adopted was descriptive and deductive analysis of the data to evaluate the relationship between the price and the landing, given the insufficient data on the price; and statistical analysis of regression with binary variables to verify the influence of El Niño and verify the trend of the series. The results show a consonance with economic theory, that is, smaller landings generate higher prices and vice versa. There is a downward trend in the series of landings of around 2% per year. With this, and given the strong decrease observed in the catch, we can infer that there is the possibility of economic exhaustion in the sector in the medium term. The El Niño phenomenon influences the series by 0.8%, and is not considered a defining element for a strong observed fall. However other factors such as the increase of the bar moors and on fishing may be influencing the capture and may be the target of future studies.
