Abstract:
Mais do que um elemento de contato, a fronteira meridional do Brasil constitui-se, ao longo da história, numa área de constante fricção com os vizinhos platinos. Estas interações entre lusos e espanhóis e, posteriormente, entre sul-brasileiros e hispanoamericanos estabeleceram-se a partir de uma emaranhada rede de inter-relações e, neste trabalho, serão abordados três microcosmos deste universo, voltados à questão do contrabando, a uma tentativa de integração econômica e a um convênio de cunho político entabulados na virada do século XIX para a centúria seguinte.
More than an element of contact, the Brazil southern frontier has been established, through the history, in an area of constant disagreement with the “platinos” neighborhood. These interactions between Portuguese and Spanish people and, later, between south Brazilians and Hispanic Americans people was established from a confused net of inter-relationships. In this paper, it will be developed three microcosm of this universe, faced to the smuggling question, to an attempt of economic integration and to a politic agreement initiated at the end of XIX century to the beginning of the next one.
