dc.description.abstract Remote sensing techniques using hyperspectral data can retrieve some pigment optical properties of cyanobacteria bloom and enhance the spatial monitoring models. In this way, the laboratory experiment reported here was performed using both radiometric and pigments sampling to investigate the cyanobacteria hyperspectral features of successive pigment dilutions. The objective is to characterize the reflectance properties of a simulated cyanobacteria bloom varying chlorophyll-a concentration from 1200 to 60 ug/L Chlorophyll-a (440 and 680 nm) and phycocyanin (620 nm) absorption bands were identified. In addition, fluorescence emission in 660 nm, due to high phycocianin concentration as a result of a low light photoadaptation, was well characterized. Another important feature identified is the infrared peak reflectance due to cell wall scattering. This feature is also highly correlated with CHL-a concentration, the first derivative analysis in 717 nm shows a 0.91 correlation coefficient with CHL-a concentration. pt_BR
