Abstract:
A Resolução CONAMA 344/2004 não define limites de concentrações de constituintes da coluna d’água de ecossistemas aquáticos submetidos a atividades de dragagem. Nesta Resolução apenas há referência aos limites de concentrações de constituintes dos sedimentos dragados. Isto a torna incompleta, em termos de preservação desses ecossistemas, já que a coluna sedimentar é constituída de sedimentos mais a água intersticial em contato direto com a coluna d´água. O presente artigo enfatiza que, simultaneamente às análises dos sedimentos, é necessário monitorar a composição da coluna d’água do local dragado. Esta avaliação ajudará a indicar o impacto no meio causado pela perturbação e remoção da coluna sedimentar. Portanto, sugere-se a inclusão da análise da coluna d´água nesta Resolução.
The Resolution CONAMA 344/2004 does not define concentration limits of the water column constituents in aquatic ecosystems submitted to dredging activities. This Resolution only refers to the limits concentrations of the constituent from the dredged sediments. In terms of the ecosystem preservation it is incomplete, since the sedimentary column is constituted of sediments and interstitial water, which has direct contact with the water column. The present article emphasizes that, simultaneously to the sediment analysis it is necessary to monitor the water column composition of the dredged area. This evaluation should help to identify the impact caused through the disturbance and removal of the sedimentary column. Therefore, it is suggested to include the monitoring of the water column to this Resolution.
