Avaliação do tamanho de captura e estimativa da abundância relativa do camarão-rosa Farfantepenaeus paulensis (Pérez Farfante 1967) no entorno da Ilha dos Marinheiros, estuário da Lagoa dos Patos, RS, Brasil

Abstract

O camarão-rosa Farfantepenaeus paulensis utiliza o estuário da Lagoa dos Patos durante o seu desenvolvimento juvenil, e neste ambiente torna-se um importante recurso para a pesca artesanal. Neste trabalho foram analisados os tamanhos dos camarões capturados pelas redes de “saquinho”; e a abundância relativa (CPUE) dos juvenis e pré-adultos no entorno da Ilha dos Marinheiros, RS, Brasil em três áreas distintas. Foram tomadas as medidas de comprimento da carapaça, através das quais se estimou o percentual de camarões com tamanho inferior ao permitido por lei. A CPUE foi estimada por área (áreas I, II e III) através das informações de desembarque da pesca artesanal. As variações diárias da salinidade foram acompanhadas durante o período de pesca através de coleta manual de água. Em todas as áreas, durante toda a safra, as capturas de camarões com tamanho inferior ao permitido por lei foram superiores ao percentual permitido. A CPUE foi significativamente menor na área III e as maiores abundâncias ocorreram nos dois primeiros meses de safra.

The pink shrimp Farfantepenaeus paulensis uses the Patos Lagoon Estuary during its juvenile development, and in this environment become an important artisanal fisheries resource. On this paper we analyzed the sizes of the shrimps captured by the “saquinho” nets as well as the trends in relative abundance according to area and month. Size samples of juveniles and preadults were obtained from artisanal fleet on three fishing areas during the 2009 pink shrimp fishing season. The carapace length was used to estimate the percentage of shrimps with smaller size than the allowed by local regulations. The CPUE were estimated by area based on information from artisanal fisheries landings. Daily salinity variation was followed during the fishing season period. In all the areas, the percentage of shrimps caught with smaller size was higher than the volume allowed. The CPUE´s were significantly different between study areas and the months of fishing, with the largest catches occurring on the first two months of the harvest season.
