Invisibilidade, memória e poder: a identidade imigrante e a construção da paisagem da cidade - Rio Grande (RS)

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como temática a construção da paisagem riograndina tendo em vista a multiplicidade de grupos sociais que estão na base dessa construção, bem como procura as distintas formas tomadas pela paisagem em seus aspectos físicos, sociais e simbólicos, buscando suas relações com diferentes grupos que participaram da sua construção no bojo do processo de constituição da sociedade capitalista local. A pesquisa focada na construção das paisagens, imersas no domínio das relações de poder e da construção de memórias, permitiu compreender aspectos da construção, manipulação e representação de identidades neste momento de instalação do capitalismo na cidade.

This work approaches the thematic of landscape construction in the city of Rio Grande, taking in account the multiplicity of social groups that formed the basis of this construction, and search for the distinct physical, social and symbolic features embodied in the landscape due relations established among the different groups involved on the emergence of the local capitalist society. The research, focused on the construction of landscapes immersed in the field of power relations and the construction of memories, allowed us to understand aspects of the construction, manipulation and representation of identities at the dawn of the capitalism in the city.
