Abstract:
O mercado de trabalho está no ápice da competitividade. Na era da sociedade da informação, o fator humano é valorizado no processo produtivo, ao transformar o conhecimento e a informação em capital. Na área da biblioteconomia não é diferente. Este artigo se propõe provocar uma reflexão quanto ao reconhecimento do papel do profissional bibliotecário na sociedade da região do Cariri cearense, no que concerne à manipulação das tecnologias da informação e da comunicação (TICs), exigências da sociedade da informação e do conhecimento. Por fim, pretendemos destacar a função do profissional da informação e suas potencialidades no mercado de trabalho.
The labor market is at the apex of competitiveness. In the era of information society, the human factor is valued in the production process by transforming information into knowledge and capital. In the area of library and information science it is not different. This paper aims to provoke a reflection on the recognition of the role of the librarian in society, particularly in the region of Cariri in Ceará, regarding the manipulation of information and communication technologies, requirements of information and knowledge society. Finally, it is intended to highlight the role of information professionals and their potential in the labor market.
