Abstract:
Este estudo, de abordagem qualitativa, tem como objetivo geral conhecer a percepção dos
usuários da Biblioteca Rio-Grandense a respeito do valor patrimonial e turístico desta
instituição para a cidade do Rio Grande/RS. Os sujeitos do estudo foram os usuários da
Biblioteca Rio-Grandense que, aleatoriamente, chegaram na referida instituição no período de
julho a agosto de 2014. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas
gravadas contendo questionário sócio-demográfico e questões abertas. A pesquisa envolve
estudo de usuário, o qual visa traçar um breve esboço do perfil dos usuários da Biblioteca,
além de pesquisa exploratória, descritiva e bibliográfica. As entrevistas foram transcritas,
revisadas e tabuladas. Os dados foram analisados por meio de análise de conteúdo de
Laurence Bardin. De modo a contemplar os aspectos éticos da pesquisa, todos os
entrevistados assinaram o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. A partir dos dados
encontrados, constatou-se que dos nove entrevistados: cinco eram do sexo feminino e quatro
do masculino; cinco referiram conhecer a história da Biblioteca Rio-Grandense; seis relataram
utilizar a biblioteca mais de cinco vezes até o momento da entrevista. As idades dos
entrevistados variaram entre 12 a 60 anos. Analisando o conjunto dos dados, foram elencadas
três categorias, as quais emergiram de três temáticas principais e mais representativas nos
relatos: Memórias e usos da Biblioteca; Relevância da Biblioteca; Patrimônio. Destaco que fui
surpreendida com os relatos de conhecimento, valorização e reconhecimento da importância
da biblioteca para a cidade, pois ao iniciar a realização do estudo não imaginou-se que os
usuários apresentassem essa consciência no que se refere às potencialidades patrimoniais e
turísticas da Biblioteca Rio-Grandense.
This study, of qualitative approach, has the general objective to know the perception of users
of Riograndense Library regarding asset and tourist value of this institution to the city of Rio
Grande / RS. The study subjects were users of the Rio-Grande Library that, randomly, came in
that institution during the period July-August 2014. Data were collected through recorded
semi-structured interviews containing socio-demographic questionnaire and open questions.
The research involves the study of user, which aims to trace a brief outline of the profile of
the users of the Library, as well as exploratory, descriptive and bibliographical research. The
interviews were transcribed, reviewed and tabulated. Data were analyzed using Laurence
Bardin content analysis. In order to consider the ethical aspects of the research, all the
interviewees signed a consent form. From the data obtained, it was found that of the nine
respondents, five were female and four male; five said they know the history of the Rio
Grande Library; six reported using the library more than five times untill the moment of the
interview. The ages of respondents ranged from 12 to 60 years. Analyzing the data set, were
listed three categories, from which emerged three main and most representative themes in the
stories: Memories and uses the Library; Relevance of the Library; Equity. I highlight my
positive surprise slant to have sumbled upon reports of knowledge, appreciation and
recognition of the importance of the library to the city, because when starting the study we did
not imagine that users submit this awareness with regard to property and tourism potential of
the Library of Rio Grande.
