Abstract:
Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo discutir a função da Literatura Infantil e Juvenil e o quanto a mesma se faz necessária na formação do leitor, relacionando à necessidade do bibliotecário participar da formação do leitor infantil e juvenil. Para a realização dessa pesquisa foi utilizada uma revisão bibliográfica, com dados documentais, cuja consulta foi realizada em livros, artigos científicos, teses e dissertações, publicadas na área de Biblioteconomia e Literatura. Pôde-se concluir que o bibliotecário, mediador de leitura, agente cultural e disseminador da informação, deve ser participante ativo do processo de formação do leitor infantil e juvenil. Através da pesquisa realizada, verificou-se grande carência de trabalhos na área de Biblioteconomia que apresentassem uma formação teórica sobre o assunto e qual sua importância dentro de uma biblioteca infantil e juvenil e, por essa razão, comprovou-se a necessidade de um estudo mais aprofundado dentro da área sobre a formação do leitor infantil e juvenil, sendo o usuário desta faixa etária importante e imprescindível para as Bibliotecas Públicas, Escolares, Alternativas e Pontos de Cultura. Finalmente, salientou-se a importância de uma disciplina específica sobre Literatura Infantil e Juvenil no Curso de Biblioteconomia, como a que já existe na área de Letras.
This research aimed to discuss the function of Literature for Children and Youth and how it is necessary in reader formation, relating to the need of the librarian to participate in the formation of the children and younger reader. To carry out this research were used, a literature review and the data source was documented, whose consultation was held in books, scientific articles, theses and dissertations, published in Librarianship and Literature. It was concluded that the librarian, reading mediator, cultural agent and disseminator of information, must be an active participant on the formation process of the children and younger reader. Through research, it is possible to realize that there is lack of work in the field of Librarianship to present a theoretical background on the subject and what is important within a children and younger librarian and, therefore, it proved the need for a further study within the formation of the children and younger reader area, being the user of this age group important and indispensable for the Public Libraries, School Libraries, Alternative Libraries and Cultural Points. Finally, stressed the importance of a specific discipline about Literature for Children and Youth in the Librarianship Course, like that already exists in the Course Lyrics.
