Abstract:
Nesse texto discutimos a relação entre memória, patrimônio e usos do passado
levando em consideração a ideia de que vivemos uma nova relação com o tempo,
caracterizada por aquilo que Valdimar Hafstein denomina como regime patrimonial. O estudo
sobre políticas públicas de patrimônio implementadas na cidade de São Lourenço do Sul, no
Rio Grande do Sul, serve de base para discutirmos o tema da memória, tradição, patrimônio
e novos passados.
In this text we discuss the relation between memory, heritage and the usage of the
past, considering the idea that we live in a new relation with time, featured by what Valdimar
Hafstein calls “heritage regime”. The study about the heritage public policy implemented in
the city of São Lourenço do Sul, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, feautures as a basis for a
discussion about the theme of memory, tradition, heritage and new pasts.
