Este artigo aborda a Crise dos Mísseis de outubro de 1962. Após a
Segunda Guerra Mundial, o mundo todo ficara muito impressionado
com as explosões atômicas no Japão. A estabilidade política da
Guerra Fria sofreu ameaças de mudanças com a Revolução Cubana.
O presidente John Kennedy e o primeiro-ministro Nikita Kruschev
quase iniciaram a guerra nuclear. Passados 50 anos do episódio, que
lições aprendemos?
This article discusses the Missile Crisis of October 1962. After the
Second World War the world was greatly impressed by the atomic
explosions in Japan. The political stability of the Cold War was
threatened from changes in the Cuban Revolution. The president John
Kennedy and the premier Nikita Khrushchev nearly started a nuclear
war. After 50 years of the episode, what have we learnt?
