A imprensa feminina: normatização da conduta feminina nos jornais para mulheres (Bahia, 1860-1917)

Abstract

A imprensa feminina na Bahia da segunda metade do século XIX e início do

XX explicitou um discurso pedagógico que procurou normatizar as condutas

femininas, orientando o comportamento que deveriam seguir. O modelo

feminino divulgado estava de acordo com o ideal da mulher mãe-esposa- rainha do lar que a sociedade da época desejava consolidar. Nas páginas destes

jornais, percebem-se as tensões das relações entre os gêneros, uma vez que se

começava a questionar o lugar social ocupado pela mulher. Por isso, avalia-se

esta imprensa ainda como espaço de emancipação, em virtude de a mulher ter

colaborado com sua escrita, ou seja, além de leitora ela foi também editora e

escritora nesta imprensa.

The female press in Bahia in the second half of the nineteenth and early

twentieth century’s explained a pedagogical discourse that sought standardize

the female behavior, guiding the behavior that should follow. The female model

released was according to the ideal of woman mother-wife-home’s queen, that

the society of the time wished to consolidate. In the pages that newspapers,

perceives the tensions of genders relationship, since it was started to question

the social position occupied by woman. Therefore, evaluates this press still like

space of emancipation, due to the woman have collaborated with the writing, means, plus reader she was too editor and writer in this press.
