Abstract:
O tesauro é uma linguagem documentária que tem como principal objetivo normalizar os termos para fins de indexação e recuperação da informação. Devido ao crescimento do número de leitores de literatura espírita e a busca por bibliotecas sobre o tema, percebeu-se a necessidade de tratar esse assunto. Esta pesquisa apresenta a construção desse instrumento, para o acervo de temática especializada em espiritismo, por meio de um tesauro já constituído por Eliane Colepícolo, da Sociedade Espírita Obreiros do Bem, com algumas inclusões e exclusões dos termos. Utilizou-se, ainda, para complementar a pesquisa, a literatura espírita, glossários, dicionários, vocabulários controlados, índices de obras e CDD (Classificação Decimal de Dewey). Nesse sentido, são apresentados uma revisão de literatura, abordando a origem e o histórico do Espiritismo, sua divulgação no Brasil e um breve relato do trabalho dessas unidades informacionais. Almeja-se que esse tesauro possa atender aos alunos, expositores, palestrantes e visitantes de instituições espíritas. Ao final são exemplificados três formatos desse objeto: planigráfico, sistemático e alfabético.
Thesaurus is an indexing language aiming to normalize terms in order
to index and retrieval information. The increase of the amount of
readers and also of specialized collection in libraries on Spiritism,
created the need of specific treatment of the subject. This research
presents the development of a thesaurus for the spirtist collection based
on another tool created by Eliane Colepícolo from the Spitist Society
Goodness’ Workers, in which we include or exclude some terms. In
order to complement the tool, some sources were consulted: Spiritist
literature, glossaries, dictionaries. Controlled vocabularies, indexes and
DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification), to improve the information
retrieval in these theme. Thus, we present the literature review on
Spiritism and its History, its spread in Brazil and an overview of some
libraries from Spiritist Centers. We hope this tool can be suitable for
students, exhibitors, speakers and visitors of spiritist institutions. Lastly,
we present the thesaurus in three formats: graphic, systematic and
alphabetical formats.
