Diálogos entre História e Literatura em obras literárias africanas e brasileiras

Abstract

O texto retoma reflexões sobre formas de interlocução

entre Literatura e História, partindo da discussão de manifestações

literárias publicadas em forma de poemas que se apropriam de material

de pesquisa antropológica, cujas fontes são cuidadosamente indicadas

no final do livro, tensionando o sentido de literatura como invenção.

Em outro momento, são analisados um romance angolano, que encena

fatos associados à presença de portugueses e holandeses na Angola

do século XVII, e dois romances brasileiros que retratam a realidade

das mulheres negras escravizadas no Brasil Colonial. Na análise dos

romances brasileiros, procurou-se discutir as informações obtidas de

historiadores e estudiosos e os processos que configuram, na encenação

literária, a intenção de descrever a vida de mulheres escravizadas,

quer destacando os castigos a elas impostos, quer mostrando-as como

pequenas comerciantes de rua que trazem para cidades como Salvador

e Rio de Janeiro algumas atividades de quitandeiras africanas.

The text retraces discussions on forms of interlocution

between Literature and History departing from literary texts published

as poems which use anthropological research materials, whose sources

are carefully referenced at the end of the book, and intend to ascribe

literature the meaning of invention. In another moment, text analyses

an Angolan novel which tells of facts associated to the presence of

the Portuguese and Dutch in Angola in the XVII century, and two

Brazilian novels describing the reality of black slave women during the

Brazilian Colonial period. The analysis of the Brazilian novels aimed

at discussing both the information from historians and researchers and the processes which configure, literarily speaking, the intention

of describing slave women lives, either by discussing forms of their

punishment or describing them as small dealers who bring to the streets

of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador cities some activities of African cookie

makers.
