Abstract:
O propósito deste trabalho é verificar os determinantes do empreendedorismo para o estado do Rio
Grande do Sul, usando os microdados da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra por Domicílios (PNAD) do
ano de 2015. A escolha pela carreira empreendedora considera diferentes fatores, sendo alguns destes
sociais, demográficos ou culturais. Ainda é um desafio, compreender como indivíduo faz tal escolha
a nível estadual. Neste sentindo, a estratégia empírica adotada empregou os modelos de escolha
discreta na estimação da escolha ocupacional. Os resultados demonstraram que existem efeitos
estatisticamente significativos e positivo para as variáveis: sexo, raça, educação, ser o responsável
pela família, estado civil (casado), renda provida de aluguel, e negativamente pelas variáveis
aposentado, residir em área urbana e metrópole.
The purpose of this study is to verify the determinants of entrepreneurship in the state of Rio Grande
do Sul using the microdata of the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) in the year 2015. The
choice for the entrepreneurial career considers different factors, some of these social, demographic
or cultural. It is still a challenge to understand how an individual makes such a choice at the state
level. In this sense, the adopted empirical strategy employed the models of discrete choice in the
estimation of occupational choice. The results showed that there are statistically significant and
positive effects for the variables: sex, race, education, being responsible for the family, marital status
(married), rent`s yield, and negatively for the variables retired, reside in urban and metropolis area.
