Abstract:
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo geral explorar mais a fundo as atividades que o
profissional bibliotecário exerce nas editoras comerciais e universitárias das regiões
Sul e Sudeste brasileiro. Além disso, foi visto como importância analisar a
bibliografia existente sobre esse tema. A pesquisa foi de cunho descritivo
exploratório porque busca analisar e investigar o perfil do profissional bibliotecário.
Primeiramente foram pesquisados, nas fontes de informação, tais como, no Portal
de Periódico Capes, Google Acadêmico e Biblioteca Digital de Teses e
Dissertações, para localizar bibliografias do tema desta pesquisa. Logo após, foi
pesquisado nos sites das editoras analisadas, totalizadas em 25 editoras,
informações sobre a equipe de trabalho para localizar se há profissionais
bibliotecários nelas atuando, para então haver um contato por telefone e e-mail para
a aplicação de questionário. Na busca nas bases de dados sobre a literatura
cientifica não se obteve nenhum resultado. Encontramos apenas entrevistas em
blogs e na página do Conselho Regional de Biblioteconomia do Rio Grande do Sul.
Com um baixo número de editoras respondentes ao primeiro contato, observamos
que são poucas as editoras que possuem o profissional bibliotecário, em grande
número editoras comerciais, sendo que as editoras universitárias utilizam mais o
serviço dos bibliotecários servidores na rede de bibliotecas da universidade.
Portanto, percebemos que a presença dos bibliotecários nas editoras ainda é
pequena, porém permanece sendo um campo em ampliação.
The present work has the general objective to explore more in depth the activities
that the professional librarian exercises in the commercial and university publishing
houses of the South and Southeast regions of Brazil. In addition, it was seen as
important to analyze the existing bibliography on this topic. The research was
descriptive exploratory because it seeks to analyze and investigate the profile of the
professional librarian. First, the sources of information, such as the Capes Journal
Portal, the Google Scholar and the Digital Theses and Dissertations Library, were
searched to find bibliographies of the theme of this research. Subsequently, it was
searched on the websites of the analyzed publishers, totaled in 25 publishers,
information on the work team to find out if there are librarians working in them, then
there is a telephone and email contact for the questionnaire application. There were
no results for the search in the databases on the scientific literature. We found only
interviews in blogs and in the page of the Regional Council of Librarianship of Rio
Grande do Sul. With a low number of publishers responding to the first contact, we
observed that few publishers have the professional librarian, in large number
commercial publishers, being that university publishers make more use of the library
librarian service in the university's library network. Therefore, we notice that the
presence of librarians in the publishing houses is still small, but remains a field in
expansion.
