A cultura da pesca artesanal de bote na comunidade da Barra em Rio Grande/RS

Abstract

A cidade do Rio Grande, por mais de um século, configurou-se como um polo pesqueiro de importância destacada no sul do Brasil. O estuário da Lagoa dos Patos possui importância relevante, porque constitui a área de criação, reprodução e alimentação de boa parte dos peixes e crustáceos que ocorrem no litoral sul do Brasil e são mais acessíveis aos pescadores artesanais. O trabalho faz uma descrição da pesca artesanal, desde 1940, com as tradicionais canoas de pranchão a vela, até a atualidade, com a utilização dos botes motorizados na comunidade da Barra em Rio Grande/RS. Nesta pesquisa, o conceito "processo de trabalho" é entendido como sendo pilar de sustentação para compreender a realidade social de uma comunidade. Tendo o conteúdo histórico e geográfico como alicerce, esta pesquisa tem por objetivo abstrair as relações sociais do processo de trabalho de pescarias de camarão, corvina, bagre e tainha da citada comunidade. Com o marco teórico buscou se o entendimento sobre os conceitos de cultura, identidade e território como forma de entender melhor a relação espaço/tempo na área de estudo, porque entendemos que a cultura configura-se como um sistema de significados criados historicamente e que orientam os indivíduos a dar forma, ordem, objetivo e direção a suas vidas; as identidades constituem fonte para a construção desses significados, que servem para orientar seus comportamentos e o conceito de território é trabalhado, porque entendemos que a cultura se manifestas sobre um território. O trabalho foi baseado em história oral e memória dos antigos moradores e pescadores da comunidade, pois nesse lugar, ao longo da sua historia, constata-se o forte poder de identificação e significação que tem a pesca no trabalho e na cultura da comunidade.

For over a century, the city of Rio Grande was configured as a important fishing pole in southern Brazil. The Patos Lagoon estuary has a great importance because it is a breeding area, been used for reproduction and feeding of most fish and crustaceans that occur in coastal southern Brazil becoming more accessible to the artisanal fishermen. The currently work is a description of fishing since 1940, with the traditional plank canoes and sailing, to the present, with the use of motorized boats in the community of Barra in Rio Grande/RS. In this research, the concept of "work process" is understood as a supporting pillar to understand the community social reality. Having historical and geographical content as the foundation, this research aims to abstract the social relations of the work process for shrimp, croaker, catfish and mullet fisheries. The theoretical framework helped the understanding of the concepts of culture, identity and territory as a way to better understand the space / time in the study area, because we understand that culture is characterized as a system of historically meanings that guide individuals to shape, order, purpose and give direction to their lives; identities are a source for the construction of these meanings which serve to guide their behavior, and the concept of territory is worked because we understand that culture is manifested over a territory. The study was based on oral history and memory of the ancient residents and fishermen of the community, because in this place, throughout its history, fishing has a strong power of identification and significance in the workplace and in the community culture.
