Abstract:
Esta dissertação de mestrado busca demonstrar a representatividade da agricultura familiar no espaço agrário do município do Rio Grande - RS. Para alcançar esta meta foram selecionadas seis áreas que serviram para entender o espaço agrário municipal considerando as especificidades dos lugares. Através da análise dos dados coletados e analisados nestas áreas buscou-se entender e dimensionar a importância da agricultura familiar para o meio rural e urbano do município, levando em conta a relação campo-cidade, uma vez que parte do que é consumido pela população urbana é proveniente do espaço agrário do município em especial das áreas onde é desenvolvida a agricultura familiar.
The dissertation seeks to demonstrate the representativeness of family farming in agrarian space of Rio Grande-RS. To achieve this goal six áreas that served to understand the municipal agrarian space considering the specifics of the places were selected. By analyzing the data collected and analyzed in these areas we sought to understand and me asure the importance of Family farming for rural and urban áreas of the municipality, takinginto account the urban-rural relationship, since part of what is consumed by the urban population comes from the agrarian space of the city especially in the áreas whwere the Family farm is developed.
