Abstract:
O presente artigo busca apresentar duas das mais importantes e influentes concepções em teoria social sobre as sociedades ocidentais modernas individualistas. Trata-se do antropólogo francês Louis Dumont e do sociólogo alemão Norbert Elias. O objetivo é mostrar como esses dois cientistas sociais concebem as sociedades referidas, sobretudo em seu aspecto individualista. Este trabalho também tem por objetivo servir como requisito parcial à obtenção do título de Especialista em Sociologia pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia do ICHI-FURG.
The present article seeks to present two of the most important and influential conceptions in social theory on modern western individualistic societies. They are the french anthropologist Louis Dumont and the german sociologist Norbert Elias. The objective is to show how these two social scientists conceive the referred societies, especially in their individualistic aspect. This work also aims to serve as a partial requirement to obtain the title of Specialist in Sociology by the Postgraduate Program in Sociology of ICHI-FURG.
