Abstract:
O presente ensaio examina o romance Deste modo ou daquele (1990), de Augusto Abelaira,
considerando as categorias da revolução e da utopia. Toma como referência a história recente de Portugal, ressaltando a Revolução dos Cravos e sua representação na narrativa
literária. Para tanto, chama a atenção para o papel da intelectualidade portuguesa na configuração de tal fato histórico.
This essay examines the novel Deste modo ou daquele (1990), by Augusto Abelaira, taking into account the categories of the revolution and the utopia. It takes the recent history of Portugal as a reference, highlighting the Carnation Revolution and its representation in the literary narrative. Therefore it exposes the role of Portuguese intellectual figures in the configuration of such historical fact.
