Abstract:
O objetivo deste estudo é demonstrar o quanto a busca por maiores níveis de
educação é capaz de aumentar os rendimentos dos indivíduos no município de Rio
Grande, em comparação com os resultados obtidos para o Rio Grande do Sul. Para
tanto, a partir de dados do Censo 2010, será estimada a função desenvolvida por
Mincer (1974) através do modelo de Mínimos Quadrados Ordinários (MQO), uma
vez que tal função fornece a relação entre os níveis de escolaridade dos indivíduos e
seus respectivos rendimentos. Os resultados mostraram que a educação tanto em
Rio Grande como no Estado tem importante contribuição na geração dos
rendimentos dos indivíduos, pois pode ser verificado neste trabalho que o retorno
gerado por ela é alto tanto ao nível do município quanto do estado.
The objective of this study is to demonstrate how the search of higher levels of
education are able to increase the income of individuals in Rio Grande, compared to
the results for the Rio Grande do Sul. Therefore, from the data census 2010 is
estimated to function developed by Mincer (1974) through the Ordinary Least
Squares model (OLS), since this function gives the relationship between the
achievement levels of individuals and their income. The results showed that
education both in Rio Grande as the state has an important contribution in the
generation of income of individuals, as can be seen in this paper that returns
generated by it is high both at the city level and the state.
