Combustão e seus efeitos: um estudo sobre concepções de alunos do ensino técnico do CEFET-RS, visando à educação ambiental.
Resumo
Este trabalho está baseado na pesquisa e dissertação a respeito de concepções de alunos do
ensino técnico do Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Pelotas (CEFET-RS) sobre a
combustão e seus efeitos, visando à Educação Ambiental. Os objetivos principais da
pesquisa foram: verificar o perfil das concepções sobre esse tema; avaliar a contribuição do
ensino técnico na formação de tais concepções; estabelecer relação entre as concepções
manifestadas e características de concepções levantadas pelo Movimento das Concepções
Alternativas (MCA). O instrumento de pesquisa consistiu num questionário com quinze
questões, compostas por uma afirmativa para os alunos assumirem um posicionamento,
valendo-se de uma escala do tipo Likert, com cinco pontos, e um espaço para comentários.
O tratamento dos dados foi realizado através de técnicas quantitativas e qualitativas. Os
resultados indicaram perfis de concepções diferentes entre categorias relativas ao tema da
pesquisa. Existiram diferenças significativas, para α = 0,05, do nível das concepções sobre
algumas categorias, entre alunos iniciantes e concluintes e entre alunos das áreas
profissionais Indústria e Química. Foi constatado que o ensino técnico auxiliou na
construção das concepções relativas a alguns tópicos e foram evidenciadas características
das concepções alternativas.
This paper is based on a research and a thesis on the conceptions of combustion and its effects, aiming at Environmental Education, formed by students who attend technical school at Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Pelotas (CEFET-RS). It aimed at checking the profile of the conceptions regarding this theme; evaluating the contribution of technical teaching to the development of such conceptions; and establishing relations among the students’ conceptions and the characteristics found in the conceptions collected by the Movement of Alternative Conceptions (MAC). The research tool was a questionnaire with 15 statements, in a Likert scale, so that students had to specify their level of agreement to the statements, and space for comments. Data were treated quantitatively and qualitatively. Results indicated different profiles of conceptions among the categories related to the theme. There were meaningful differences, to α = 0,05, of the level of conceptions regarding some categories, among freshmen and seniors, and among students in professional areas, i. e., Industry and Chemistry. I concluded that the teaching in technical schools has helped the construction of conceptions regarding some issues; besides, some of the characteristics of alternative conceptions were also found.
