    Biorremediação de solo arenoso contaminado por derrame simulado com benzeno, tolueno e xileno

    This study aimed at evaluating benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX) bioremediation in sand soil, as well as the percolation of these compounds, using a biosurfactant produced by Corynebacterium aquaticum and a final electron acceptor (NO3-). Bioremediation was carried out ex situ in a non- sterile sand soil, using polyvinyl chloride (PVC) reactors at four different biosurfactant and final electron acceptor concentrations. Under the evaluated conditions the studied compounds did not percolate to a depth of 0.4 m and no risk of contamination of the groundwater stock (2 m from the surface) was verified.
