Abstract:
“Diving into the wreck (1971), “A valediction forbidding mourning” (1971), “I dream I am the death of
Orpheus” (1971) e “Trying to talk with a man” (1971).
Michel Foucault (2015) e Michelle Perrot (2009).
Relegated to the private space, the female figure had the multiplicity that involves the construction of
their subjectivity excluded from the historical lines: motherhood and marriage were the only roles delegated
to women. However, today, women’s multifaceted are perceived from a movement of awareness
and the necessary look at the varied experiences of women. From this perspective, the present work
aims to reflect on the construction of female subjectivity in the poetry of Adrienne Rich. Therefore, the
poems “Aunt Jennifer’s Tiger” (1973), “Diving into the wreck” (1971), “A valediction forbidding mourning”
(1971), “I dream I am the death of Orpheus” and “Trying to talk with a man” (1971) were selected
to thys analysis. This study is based on the reflection of theoreticians such as Michel Foucault (2015) and
Michelle Perrot (2009).
