Tudo além: a busca do reconhecimento identitário em onde andará Dulce Veiga?

Abstract

A presente dissertação analisa o romance Onde andará Dulce Veiga?, de Caio Fernando Abreu, e tem a busca pelo reconhecimento identitário como foco, principalmente no que concerne aos sujeitos marginais e sua procura por integração à sociedade. A representação na pós-modernidade é problematizada, bem como a questão da paródia nesse período e as relações entre arte e mercado. A busca do sujeito por identidade analisa-se através da procura empreendida pela personagem protagonista do romance e de aspectos do tempo e espaço, essenciais por apresentarem na diegese os pontos questionados na teoria. São relacionados, também, alguns elementos externos à obra em análise, que reforçam a característica intertextual do período pós-moderno e do próprio corpus escolhido.

This thesis aims at analyzing the novel Onde andará Dulce Veiga?, by Caio Fernando Abreu, and has as its main focus the question of identity, especially the one pursued by outcast subjects in their will to belong to a given social group. The representation of post-modernism is problematized, as well as questions involving the use of parody within this period. The relation between art and the market is also explored in this study. The subject’s quest for a sense of identity is addressed through the main character’s search along the novel, and also by the analysis of time and space. Both elements are essential once they reflect throughout the narrative the aspects highlighted in the theoretical discussion. Other external elements, not belonging to the novel itself, are also dealt as they reinforce the intertextual character of postmodernity and also of the corpus chosen.
