Memórias da prática do skate em Rio Grande/RS: geopolíticas, arquiteturas e skatistas

Abstract

A prática do skate vem constituindo-se como tema de pesquisas acadêmicas e produções culturais, especialmente, a partir dos anos 2000. Parte dessas produções vem anunciar uma trajetória histórico-cultural marcada por uma passagem do “lazer a esportivização” (HONORATO, 2004), “da marginalização a esportivização” (BRANDÃO, 2008), “de vilão a mocinho” (LAURO, 2011) como elementos recorrentes nas dinâmicas dessa prática. Olhando para as condições de produção desse mimetismo narrativo, identifico o eixo Rio-São Paulo e o período compreendido entre as décadas de 60 e 90 como o espaço e tempo privilegiado nessas publicações. Da mesma forma, os artefatos culturais e narrativas de skatistas profissionais ou “de sucesso” (GRAEFF, 2009) são fontes predominantes nesse campo de saberes. Partindo desse diagnóstico, pergunto: se voltássemos nossos olhares a outros espaços e tempos, mais descentralizados, quais trajetórias produziríamos? Se fossem ouvidas outras vozes, distintas das de “sucesso”, que histórias contaríamos? Nessa perspectiva, fui ao encontro da História Oral, especificamente em Portelli (2010) e Bom Meihy e Holanda (2007) como atitudes político-metodológicas, em que os skatistas da cidade de Rio Grande/RS, constituíram-se protagonistas desse fazer histórico. Assim, essa pesquisa teve por objetivo construir parte das memórias sobre o skate em Rio Grande/RS buscando, especificamente, analisar as condições de emergência dessa prática na cidade; os usos dos espaços urbanos pelos skatistas e as maneiras pelas quais os eles constituíram-se como tais nesse município. Entrevistas com três skatistas de bairros e gerações distintas compuseram o corpus de análise dessa pesquisa. Indo ao encontro dos objetivos traçados, analiso suas falas a partir de três esferas, constituindo um mosaico de memórias. São elas: Geopolíticas do skate na cidade: andanças, disputas, ingerências; Arquiteturas do skate: estéticas, políticas e potências; Constituir-se skatista: identidades, influências e amizades. As narrativas construídas apresentaram deslocamentos nos modos de transitar e ocupar espaços de prática, de estabelecer vínculos com os obstáculos públicos e urbanos e de constituir-se skatista num período compreendido entre os anos 80 e 2000, recorte estabelecido pelos próprios depoentes em virtude de suas experiências junto ao skate na cidade.

The practice of skateboarding has been constituted as a subject of academic research cultural productions, especially from the 2000s. Part of these productions has announced a historic and cultural trajectory marked by a shift from the "entertainments to sportivization" (HONORATO, 2004), from "marginalization to sportivization" (BRANDÃO, 2008), "from villain to good guy" (LAURO, 2011) as recurring elements in the dynamics of this practice. Looking at the conditions of production of this narrative mimicry, i identified the Rio-São Paulo area and the period from the 60s and 90s as the privileged space and time in these publications. The same way, the cultural artifacts and narratives of professional or "successul" skateboarders (Graeff, 2009) as the predominant sources of this field of knowledge. Based on this diagnosis, i questioned: if we turned our eyes to more decentralized areas and times, which trajectories we‟ll produce? If other voices were heard, distinct from the "successful" ones, which stories they 'd tell?. From this perspective, i went to meet the oral history, specifically of Portelli (2010) and Bom Meihy and Holanda (2007) as a political and methodological attitudes, in which skaters from Rio Grande / RS, were the protagonists of that historic do. Still, the skaters of the city of Rio Grande/RS, were the protagonists of this history making. Thus, this research aims to build part of the memories on the skateboard in Rio Grande/RS seeking, specifically analyzing the conditions of the emergence of this practice in the city, the uses of urban spaces by skaters and how skateboarders constituted themselves in this municipality. Interviews with three skaters from different generations and neighborhoods formed the corpus of analysis of this research. Going to meet the stated objectives, we analyzed her lines from three spheres, forming a mosaic of memories. They are: Geopolitics of skateboard in city: wanderings, disputes, interventions; Architectures of skateboard: aesthetics, politics and potencies; Constitution of the skateboarder: identities, influences and friendships. The constructed narratives showed shifts in modes of transit and occupy spaces of practice, establish links with public and urban obstacles and forms to constitute themselves into a skateboarder in the period from the 80s and 2000s, cut established by the respondents themselves by virtue of their experiences with the skateboard in the town.
