O Cânone literário da antiguidade:considerações sobre Para Ler o Ocidente, de José Hildebrando Dacanal

Abstract

Análise e descrição da obra Para ler o Ocidente: Hélade, Israel, Roma, lançada em 2013 por José Hildebrando Dacanal, em que o professor e crítico gaúcho examina autores e obras fundamentais da Antiguidade, os quais construíram a noção moderna de Ocidente, a partir de três diferentes legados: o grego, o israelita e o latino. Baseando-se nos pressupostos da teoria da história da literatura, extraídos de David Perkins e Siegfried Schmidt, o artigo traz à tona questões relativas à obra historiográfica de Dacanal, tais como cânone, cronologia, herói, gêneros literários, contexto histórico, entre outras.

Analysis and description of the work Para ler o Ocidente:Hélade, Israel, Roma, launched in 2013 by José HildebrandoDacanal, in which the gaucho professor and critic examines fundamental authors and works from the Antiquity, which have constructed t the modern notion of West, since the three different legacies: the Greek, the Israelite and the Latin. Based in the assumption of the history of literature theory, extracted from David Perkins and Siegfried Schimidt, the article brings to light questions related to the historiographic work of Dacanal, as canon, chronology, hero, literary genres, historic context, among others.
