As palavras ditas: a representação das emoções femininas na poesia de Adrienne Rich

Abstract

O presente artigo pretende refletir acerca da emocionalidade feminina na poesia da norte-americana Adrienne Rich. A partir da compreensão de um sujeito feminino multifacetado, esse estudo pretende examinar a forma como essas emoções repercutem na construção da subjetividade feminina não mais aprisionada à unicidade perpetuada pelo sistema patriarcal no qual a figura masculina é a detentora de poder. Para tanto, os poemas “The Afterwake” (1967), “Necessities of Life” (1966) e “Integrity” (1994) foram aqui analisados. Tomando como ponto de partida, as contribuições de teóricas como Teresa de Lauretis (1994) e Barbara Rosenwein (2011), compreendemos que as poesias de Rich aqui discutidas constituem um espaço de reflexão sobre o discurso hegemônico e práticas sociais guiadas pela cultura Ocidental. Assim, Rich, pela voz de seu eu lírico, caminha em direção à quebra de pilares que relegam a mulher a posições secundárias em nossa sociedade, mostrando-nos a necessidade de novos olhares e possibilidades ao pensarmos sobre as emoções que envolvem o feminino.

The present paper aims to reflect on the feminine emotionality in the poetry of the North American poet, Adrienne Rich. From the understanding of a multifaceted female subject, this study intends to examine how these emotions reverberate in the construction of feminine subjectivity no longer imprisoned the uniqueness perpetuated by the patriarchal system in which the masculine figure is the holder of power. Thus, the poems "The Afterwake" (1967), "Necessities of Life" (1966) and "Integrity" (1994) were analyzed here. From theoretical contributions such as Teresa de Lauretis (1994) and Barbara Rosenwein (2011), we understand that Rich's poems here discussed constitute a space for reflection on hegemonic discourse and social practices guided by Western culture. Thus, Rich, through the voice of his lyrical self, walks toward the breaking of pillars that relegate women to secondary positions in our society, showing us the need for new looks and possibilities as we think about the emotions that involve the feminine.
