Abstract:
O presente trabalho visa analisar aspectos referentes ao espaço na obra A desumanização
(2014), de Valter Hugo Mãe. Entende-se aqui que a Islândia, país em
que o romance é ambientado, ocupa papel de importância na construção da
narrativa. Salienta-se que tal análise parte da compreensão de que o espaço
literário é elemento subjetivo e fruto da ficcionalidade. Apreende-se, aqui, a
noção de que a Islândia trabalha como reflexo dos traumas das diferentes personagens
da narrativa, sendo, ao mesmo tempo, o palco e o ator de uma história
de reflexão acerca da solidão humana. Isto posto, tais reflexões serão realizadas
a partir de apontamento de teóricos do tema.
The present paper aims to analyze aspects related to space in the novel A
desumanização (2014), by Valter Hugo Mãe. It is understood here that Iceland,
country where the novel is set, occupies an importance role in the construction
of such narrative. This analysis takes into account the understanding that
literary space is a subjective, imaginary and fictional element. From this
understanding, the notion that the country works as a reflection of the traumas
of the different characters from the narrative, being, at the same time, the stage
and the actor of a history of reflection on the human solitude. Thus, such
reflections will be carried out from the point of view of important theorists.
