Abstract:
Os repositórios digitais servem para preservar, organizar e disseminar o conhecimento institucional e temático. Tendo em vista que os tipos de conhecimentos necessários para o avanço transcendem o chamado campo científico, busca-se elencar uma ferramenta que atenda as mais diversas tipologias documentais e investigar as suas aplicações. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo investigar o software livre Omeka S, com a finalidade de explorar e divulgar o seu uso. Como objetivo específico buscou-se identificar quais repositórios usam o Omeka S, a localização das instituições que o utilizam, qual o tipo de acervo e as tipologias documentais. Para tal, foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória de cunho documental para saber quem usa, onde e como por meio do diretório encontrado no site do referido software. Como resultado, pode-se dizer que a principal aplicação do Omeka S é em repositórios temáticos de exposição digital. Os temas são bastante variados. Dentre eles destacam-se os repositórios de memória e patrimônio, no qual apareceu maior número de vezes. Nas considerações é observada a coerência entre os resultados e a proposta do software. Recomenda-se que novos estudos com diferentes fontes documentais sejam feitos para expandir o conhecimento sobre o tema e identificar outras aplicações.
Digital repositories serve to preserve, organize, and disseminate institutional and thematic knowledge. Given that the types of knowledge needed for advancement transcend the so-called scientific field, a tool that serves the most diverse document typologies and investigates its applications is sought. The present work aims to investigate the free software Omeka S, with the purpose of exploring and spreading its use. The specific goal was to identify which repositories use Omeka S, the location of the institutions that use it, the type of collection, and the document typologies. To this end, an exploratory documentary research was carried out to find out who uses it, where, and how through the directory found on the site of the software. As a result, it can be said that the main application of Omeka S is in thematic repositories of digital exhibition. The themes are quite varied. Among them are the repositories of memory and heritage, in which appeared more times. In the considerations it is observed the coherence between the results and the software proposal. It is recommended that new studies with different documental sources be done to expand the knowledge on the theme and identify other applications.
