Abstract:
O presente trabalho dedica-se a analisar o álbum Helvetios, da banda suíça Eluveitie,
que se propõe a fazer a “versão celta” da invasão de Júlio César à Gália. Como objetivos tevese analisar as representações da identidade helvécia antiga no álbum, assim como a identidade
proposta por César em seu De Bello Gallico e pensar ambas as fontes enquanto produtoras de
memória. Como aporte teórico foi utilizado Aline Dias da Silveira, Reinhart Koselleck, Peter
Burke, Jan Assmann, Icles Rodrigues, Marcos Napolitano, entre outros autores, para trabalhar
questões como identidade, memória, música e tempo. Após o período de pesquisa evidencia-se
a conexão entre o álbum Helvetios e o De Bello Gallico através do conceito de outro de Burke,
assim como a capacidade singular da arte em proporcionar entendimento através da experiência
de consumi-la.
The present work aims to analyse the album Helvetios, by swiss band Eluveitie, which
intends to make a “celtic version” of Julius Caesar’s invasion of Gaul. As objectives there’s the
analysis of the representation of ancient helvetian identity on the album, as well as the identity
proposed by Caeser in his De Bello Gallico, and to hink of them both as capable of producing
memory. As theorical basis it was employed Aline Dias da Silveira, Reinhart Koselleck, Peter
Burke, Jan Assmann, Icles Rodrigues, Marcos Napolitano, beyond others, to work with the
concepts of identity, memory, music and time. After the research period it is possible to see the
conection between the album Helvetios and the De Bello Gallico through Burke’s concept of
other, as well the singular capability of art in providing understanding through its consumption.
