Abstract:
Neste trabalho nos debruçamos sobre a obra Otelo, O Mouro de Veneza (1604) de autoria de William Shakespeare e a analisamos pela perspectiva de gênero. Compreendendo a forma como o feminino e o masculino se portam naquele mundo e a dissonância de suas vozes, que por estarem dentro de uma estrutura socialmente generificada são guiadas para a ação ou o recolhimento. Agir no mundo, no contexto de Otelo, é reservado ao masculino enquanto o feminino é achatado nessa lógica da existência. Analisamos a forma como os personagens são conduzidos para uma guerra doméstica que resulta em assassinatos e suicídio por não poderem se desvencilhar de sua visão sobre os gêneros.
In this work we focus on the work Othello, The Moor of Venice (1604) by William Shakespeare and analyze it from the perspective of gender. Understanding the way the feminine and masculine behave in that world and the dissonance of their voices, which, being within a socially gendered structure, are guided towards action or recollection. Acting in the world, in the context of Othello, is reserved for the masculine while the feminine is flattened in this logic of existence. We analyze how the characters are led to a domestic war that results in murders and suicide because they cannot get rid of their vision of gender.
