Abstract:
No presente artigo problematizamos a homossexualidade e a homofobia como construções sociais, culturais e históricas implicadas em sistemas de significação e relações de poder/saber. A escola é uma das instituições que (re)produz tais discursos, por exemplo, através do silenciamento no currículo sobre as questões de homofobia, de diversidade sexual e de gênero, contribuindo para a afirmação da heterossexualidade como a única forma de viver os prazeres e desejos. Neste sentido, analisamos as narrativas produzidas por adolescentes sobre homofobia, buscando compreender em que medida esses adolescentes vão sendo interpelados pelos discursos acerca da diversidade sexual e de gênero. Enfatizamos a importância de discutir tais questões no âmbito escolar, uma vez que essa instância contribui na formação dos sujeitos e de suas identidades. Utilizamos, como estratégias metodológicas para a produção das narrativas, o preenchimento de um questionário e a constituição de grupos focais. Ao analisar as narrativas, evidenciamos que os/as adolescentes participantes da pesquisa entendem a homofobia como uma maneira excludente de agir, na sociedade, na família e também na escola, local que, segundo eles/as, é propício para discutir essas questões.
In this paper, homosexuality and homophobia are problematized as social, cultural and historical constructions, which are implicated in systems of meaning and relations of power/knowledge. The school is an institution (re)producing such discourses, for example, by silencing the curriculum on issues of homophobia, sexual diversity and gender, thus contributing to the affirmation of heterosexuality as the only way to experience pleasures and desires. Therefore, narratives produced by teenagers about homophobia are analyzed in order to understand the extent to which adolescents are being challenged by the discourse on sexual diversity and gender. The importance of discussing such issues within the school is focused by taking into account that such body contributes to the formation of the subjects and their identities. For the production of narratives, the methodological strategies of filling out a questionnaire and establishing focus groups were used. By analyzing the narratives, the adolescents participating in the research were shown to have an understanding of homophobia as an exclusive way to act in society, the family and also the school as sites they said to be ripe to discuss these issues.
