Produção alimentar no município de Visconde do Rio Branco- MG

Abstract

Esta pesquisa tem como premissa básica compreender como se configurou a produção agrícola, em especial a produção de base alimentar, no município de Visconde do Rio Branco - MG. Para tanto, foram realizados estudos históricos, geográficos, econômicos e políticos do período pós-mineração, possibilitando o entendimento das características agrárias da Zona da Mata Mineira e do município em estudo. O processo de ocupação e formação da região, e especificamente do município de Visconde do Rio Branco permite entender como se desenvolveu a produção alimentar, bem como o impacto causado pela monocultura e beneficiamento da cana-de-açúcar no espaço agrário local nos 112 anos de intensa atividade açucareira. As várias fases desta cultura na região ocasionaram sucessivas reorganizações no espaço agrário, comprometendo em alguns momentos a produção de alimentos. A temática relacionada à importância dos alimentos e da produção alimentar em âmbito nacional, regional e local, e as conseqüências trazidas pela carência ou alimentação inadequada, está também relacionada ao entendimento e a evolução da legislação federal referente à produção alimentar e a questão nutricional da alimentação brasileira, e os avanços e desdobramentos da mesma em todas as escalas de análise. O trabalho foi fundamentado teoricamente em autores que tratam da temática relativa à produção, mas também em trabalhos de campo e aplicação de entrevistas junto aos trabalhadores rurais, que contribuíram para o entendimento das questões relacionadas ao setor agrário do município e sua organização produtiva. Através das respostas obtidas na pesquisa de campo, também foram conhecidos os hábitos alimentares da população rural, assim como as iguarias que acompanham diariamente os alimentos básicos consumidos. O trabalho de campo e a análise de dados secundários permitiu tecer a evolução da produção alimentar no município, verificar as necessidades e as possibilidades de mudanças no espaço agrário e os obstáculos que impedem as transformações e o desenvolvimento sócio-econômico em âmbito local.

This research has as basic premise to understand as if it was configured the agricultural production, in special the production of alimentary base, in the city of Visconde do Rio Branco - MG. For such, historical, geographic, economic studies and politicians of the period have been carried through after-mining period, making possible the understanding of the agrarian characteristics of the Zona da Mata Mineira and the city in study. The process of occupation and formation of the region, and specifically of the city of Visconde do Rio Branco allows the understanding of how the alimentary production was developed, as well as the impact caused for the cultivation and improvement of the sugar cane-of-sugar in the local agrarian space within the 112 years of intense sugar activity. The many phases of this culture in the region have caused successive reorganizations in the agrarian space, compromising in some moments the food production. The thematic related to the importance of foods and the alimentary production in national, regional and local scope, and the consequences brought by the lack or inadequate feeding, is also related to the understanding and the evolution of the referring federal legislation to the alimentary production and the nutritional question of the Brazilian feeding, and the advances and results of the same in all the scales of analysis. The work was based theoretically on authors who deal with thematic related to the production, but also on works in fields and application of interviews with the agricultural workers, who have contributed to the understanding of questions related to the agrarian sector of the city and its productive organization. Through the answers obtained in the field research, the alimentary habits of the agricultural population have also been known, as well as the delicacies that daily follow consumed basic foods. The work of field and the analysis of secondary data allowed spinning the evolution of the alimentary production in the city, to verify the necessities and the possibilities of changes in the agrarian space and the obstacles that hinder the transformations and the partner-economic development in local scope.
