Abstract:
Os conflitos na região platina durante o século XIX ocorreram devido à luta
pelo ajuste dos territórios e das fronteiras dos jovens Estados
independentes, quando firmaram seus limites e buscaram garantir sua
soberania nacional. O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir as relações de
fronteiras e do território sociocultural do Brasil e dos Estados platinos.
Abordam-se os antecedentes e as tensas relações diplomáticas do maior
conflito bélico da América do Sul, a Guerra da Tríplice Aliança.
The conflicts in the region along La Plata River during the 19th century
occurred due to the struggle for settlement of territories and borders of the
emerging independent States, when boundaries were set up in order to
ensure national sovereignty. This study is aimed at discussing the relations
of borders and the sociocultural territory of Brazil and the States along La
Plata River. The background and the tense diplomatic relations of the
biggest warfare in the South America, the Paraguayan War, are
addressed.
