A Educação Ambiental em tempos de crise: desafios e propostas após a catástrofe Haitiana

Abstract

O trabalho visa analisar, aprofundar e enriquecer o debate sobre alguns dos principais problemas ambientais do/no Haiti. Para compreender o Haiti, a primeira república negra do mundo a se tornar independente, é extremamente importante uma analise acerca da sua trajetória histórica. Começamos pelos tempos da escravidão, pósescravidão, passando pela esfera política, econômica, educativa, cultural, religiosa e ambiental, para chegar a uma compreensão maior da problemática em pauta no dia de hoje. Com a luz da Educação Ambiental crítica, desde uma perspectiva sistêmica para conhecer e compreender as relações, os componentes, as interrelações, as organizações dentro da mesma sociedade, foi fundamental uma investigação de cunho bibliográfico, documental e comparativo sobre os principais problemas ambientais do/no Haiti, Tomamos como exemplo o desmatamento que acompanha o país ao longo de sua história, a pobreza, a miséria e seu impacto na saúde da população, transtornos que não surgem de forma isolada, mas como a soma de um conjunto de fatores. A responsabilidade começa com o papel e/ou a obrigação do Estado local, como o principal regulador e distribuidor dos recursos naturais, e transcorre até o dever do próprio cidadão como integrante do país. Levamos em conta a importância da religião vodu na cultura haitiana e a sua estreita ligação com a natureza, o impacto do desmatamento assim como o uso das plantas medicinais haitianas como alternativa viável de cuidado da saúde da população. Com base nessas perspectivas, é fundamental o papel do Educador Ambiental como articulador capaz de propiciar idéias, propostas alternativas para agir, refletindo e buscando sempre transformar a realidade vivida, na coletividade.

This paper aims to analise, to deepen and enrich the debate about some of the main environmental problems in Haiti. In order to better understand Haiti, the first black republic in the world to become independent, it is extremely important na analisis about its historical trajectory. We may begin from the slavery and post slavery periods going through the political, economic, educational, religious and environmental areas to better understand problematic in evidence nowadays. Based on the Critical Environmental Education, from a systemic perspective to know and understand the relations, the components, the interelations, the organizations inside the same society, it was very important to set bibliographic, documental and compative investigation about the main environmental problems from/in Haiti. We have, as an example, the deforestation which has been part of the country along its history, the poverty, the misery and their impact on the health of the population, which are disorders that do not arise in the isolated way, but as a junction of many factors. The responsability begins with the rule and/or the obligation of the Local State, as the main regulator and distributor of the natural resources, and goes to the citizen´s duty as a part of the country. We take into account the vodu religion for the haitian culture and its close connection to the nature, the impact of the deforest as well as the use of haitian medical plants as a possible alternative to take care of the population health. Based on those perspectives, it is very important the Environmental Educator to be a person who may suggest ideas and alternative proposals to act, always thinking and searching transform the reality lived, in the collectivity.
