Abstract:
O presente artigo trata de abordar a história da festa em homenagem a Iemanjá, no município do Rio Grande – RS, bem como o processo mesmo de sua realização e a importância do movimento umbandista para a consolidação dessa festividade anual junto à praia do balneário Cassino, bairro deste município. Trata-se, também, de uma reflexão pontual acerca do sagrado e do profano, que se explicitam na cosmovisão dos fiéis que participam das efemérides à “rainha do mar”, procurando demonstrar que, nessa cosmovisão religiosa, também pode-se perceber anúncios de uma educabilidade ambiental desde sempre presente.
The present article is to address the history of the party in honor of Iemanja in Rio Grande - RS, as well as the very process of its realization and the importance of Umbanda movement for the consolidation of
this annual festival on the beach of the resort casino, a neighborhood that the municipality. It is also a timely
reflection on the sacred and the profane is made explicit in the worldview of the faithful who participate in the ephemeris to the "Sea Queen", seeking to demonstrate that this religious worldview can also see ads from an environmental education always present.
