Abstract:
O presente estudo tem por objetivo uma investigação etnoecológica utilizando as
representações sociais dos Kaingang da Terra Indígena Carreteiro no município de
Água Santa – RS. Esta atividade foi realizada com 35 alunos das séries iniciais
com idades entre seis e doze anos. Foi proposto aos alunos que expressassem suas
representações sobre o meio ambiente através de desenhos. As gravuras analisadas
foram divididas em quatro categorias: moradia (28 desenhos); utilitarista (10
desenhos); cidade (dois desenhos) e natureza (sete desenhos). Constatou-se que as
categorias mais freqüentes nas representações foram: modo de vida (moradia),
natureza e recurso (utilitarista) retratando a realidade do cotidiano dos alunos da
aldeia. Esta análise serve como subsídio para futuros trabalhos levando a
mudanças nas representações individuais e coletivas, em busca de um
aperfeiçoamento entre estratégia pedagógica e propostas de atividades ambientais
na reserva indígena.
This study aims at reporting an ethnoecological inquiry which uses the Kaingangs’
social representations regarding the Carreteiro Indigenous Reserve in Água Santa,
RS. This activity was carried out with 35 students in the first grades in Elementary
School, from six to twelve years of age. The students expressed their social representations regarding the environment in drawings. The drawings were
analyzed and categorized: housing (28 drawings), utilitarian (10 drawings), city
(two drawings), and nature (seven drawings). Their way of life (housing), nature
and resources (utilitarian) were the most common categories since they show the
reality of students’ everyday life. This analysis may be used as data for future
studies and trigger changes in individual and collective representations so that
there can be some improvement in the pedagogical strategy and proposals for
environmental activities in the indigenous reserve.
