A sociedade ocidental reconhece, desde as suas origens, a idéia de que o homem é um ser digno e, portanto, seria esta dignidade que o distinguiria das coisas e dos animais. Se todo o ser humano merece o incondicional respeito á dignidade, este se estende ao próprio nascimento, devendo-se garantir o desenvolvimento do novo ser, nas melhores condições possíveis. Afim de delinear os contornos do principio relativo ao respeito á dignidade desde o nascimento á criança e, especialmente frente á instrumentalização crescente da reprodução humana, como priorizar o interesse superior da criança nascida das modernas tecnologias reprodutivas?
