A cidadania na América Latina: um olhar para as novas práticas emancipatórias

Abstract

O presente texto apresenta os resultados parciais de uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca do Constitucionalismo Moderno/Colonial e a emergência do (Novo) Constitucionalismo Latino-Americano, de modo a traçar um estudo comparado entre as Constituições do Brasil (1988), Bolívia (2009) e Equador (2008).

This text talks about the citizenship in Latin America, a changing context. Discusses citizenship in the Latin American context taking considering their formation through history. After, exposes the new tendencies of citizenship from the comparative study between the Brazilian, Bolivian and Ecuadorian constitutions. Discusses their identities and how human rights are applied and guaranteed in these countries. Presents experiences and challenges to achieve the new constitutionalism, to include those who are called subalterns. Finally, brings some final thoughts on this subject.
