Abstract:
Ciências, na linha de pesquisa “Discursos, Culturas e Subjetividades na Educação em
Ciências”. A pesquisa teve como objetivo problematizar as representações de
masculinidades juvenis contemporâneas presentes nas culturas juvenis do Rock, Rap
e Kpop, da cidade de Rio Grande/RS. Assim, ancorado nos campos teóricos dos
Estudos Culturais em suas perspectivas teóricas pós-estruturalistas, Estudos de
Gênero, em especial nas Masculinidades, e no campo das Culturas Juvenis, esse
estudo foi desenvolvido com o interesse de analisar e discutir as representações de
masculinidades que são produzidas e reproduzidas nessas culturas juvenis e que
acabam atuando/influenciando na constituição dos sujeitos jovens pertencentes esses
estilos musicais. Como forma de movimentos metodológicos para a construção desta
pesquisa, produziu-se um movimento de análise cultural dessas culturas juvenis e que
para sua produção foi subdividido em três movimentos. Um primeiro com o objetivo
de investigar as produções acadêmicas já publicadas a respeito dessa temática, um
segundo movimento de pesquisa que volta seus olhares para as representações de
masculinidades juvenis contemporâneas presentes no ciberespaços do Facebook
relacionados a estes estilos musicais e direcionados aos usuários da cidade de Rio
Grande/RS, e por fim, um terceiro movimento a fim de investigar as representações
de masculinidades juvenis contemporâneas presentes nessas culturas através de
entrevistas narrativas junto a nove jovens pertencentes a estes estilos musicais. O
movimento de investigação no ciberespaço do Facebook tinha como objetivo
investigar as representações de masculinidades juvenis em dois videoclipes de grupos
locais onde identificamos jovens que são subjetivados por suas vivências, as quais
são marcadas pela violência e criminalidade. Dessa forma, encontramos
representações de masculinidades juvenis contestadoras, no que se refere às suas
realidades sociais, além de resistentes às práticas que delimitam seus modos de ser
e de viver. O movimento de análise relacionado às entrevistas narrativas tinha como
objetivo investigar representações de masculinidades juvenis presentes nas
narrativas de jovens que se descrevem como pertencentes às culturas dos estilos
musicais mencionados. Assim, os resultados relacionados às narrativas dos jovens
nos apresentaram jovens que buscavam um distanciamento de representações
“tradicionais/hegemônicas” das masculinidades assim buscando por formas de
representações plurais/dissidentes/queers, mesmo que esses diferentes estilos
musicais investigados visibilizem determinadas posturas como representativas para a
masculinidade. A produção desse estudo de mestrado, possibilita ver que estes jovens
se distanciam de linearidades construídas socialmente para as possíveis
representações de masculinidades juvenis para essas culturas e estilos musicais.
Inseridos nessa perspectivas pós-estruturalista, entendemos que esses sujeitos são
constituídos socialmente e que por serem sujeitos, eles tencionam/rompem com as
formas existentes de vivenciar suas masculinidades associadas a essas culturas, ou
até mesmo produzem outras formas para vivenciar suas masculinidades.
This dissertation was produced in the Graduate Program in Science Education, in the
line of research “Discourses, Cultures and Subjectivities in Science Education”. The
research aimed to problematize the representations of contemporary youth
masculinities present in youth cultures of Rock, Rap and Kpop, in the city of Rio
Grande/RS. Thus, anchored in the theoretical fields of Cultural Studies in their post-
structuralist theoretical perspectives, Gender Studies, especially in Masculinities, and
in the field of Youth Cultures, this study was developed with the interest of analyzing
and discussing the representations of masculinities that are produced and reproduced
in these youth cultures and that end up acting/influencing the constitution of young
subjects belonging to these musical styles. As a form of methodological movements
for the construction of this research, a movement of cultural analysis of these youth
cultures was produced, which for its production was subdivided into three movements.
A first with the objective of investigating the academic productions already published
on this theme, a second movement of research that turns its gaze to the
representations of contemporary youth masculinities present in the cyberspaces of
Facebook related to these musical styles and directed to users of the city of Rio
Grande/RS, and finally, a third movement in order to investigate the representations of
contemporary youth masculinities present in these cultures through narrative
interviews with nine young people belonging to these musical styles. The research
movement in Facebook's cyberspace aimed to investigate the representations of
youthful masculinities in two video clips from local groups where we identified young
people who are subjectivated by their experiences, which are marked by violence and
criminality. In this way, we find representations of contesting youthful masculinities,
with regard to their social realities, in addition to being resistant to the practices that
delimit their ways of being and living. The analysis movement related to the narrative
interviews aimed to investigate representations of youthful masculinities present in the
narratives of young people who describe themselves as belonging to the cultures of
the aforementioned musical styles. Thus, the results related to the narratives of young
people presented us with young people who sought a distance from
“traditional/hegemonic” representations of masculinities, thus searching for forms of
plural/dissident/queer representations, even if these different musical styles
investigated make certain postures visible as representative for the masculinity. The
production of this master's study allowed us to see that these young people distance
themselves from socially constructed linearities towards the possible representations
of youthful masculinities for these cultures and musical styles. Inserted in this post-
structuralist perspective, we understand that these subjects are socially constituted
and that because they are subjects, they intend/break with the existing ways of
experiencing their masculinities associated with these cultures, or even produce other
ways to experience their masculinities.
